In Laughter Yoga, unlike traditional physical yoga, the exercises are about movement rather than postures. And, our movement is fueled by the breath of laughter. You don't need to be happy, or have a sense of humor, or even have a reason to laugh. Laughter Yoga invites you to laugh for no other reason than laughter itself!
All ages, sizes, shapes, and fitness levels can practice Laughter Yoga and no previous experience is necessary. You will discover that even as you start in fake laughter, it soon becomes authentic laughter. And, the great thing is, whether false or true laughter, the benefits are the same! Calories are burned, more oxygen flows through the lungs and to the brain, the diaphragm is opened up, and endorphins--the body's natural painkiller and mood enhancer--are released. You will feel your energy level increasing with Laughter Yoga.
Laughter Yoga also allows you to reduce stress, lighten your mental burdens, make friendly, fun connections with others, and have more joy. Laughing creates perspective for yourself, even peace of mind. It becomes easier to embrace the whole rich tapestry of your life, even the difficult and painful elements, as you allow laughter to exist along with it.
